THE BRITISH CARLIST LEGION

Around 10,000 men ,many Irish deserters, were sent to Spain under George Lacy Evans. They arrived in San Sebastian in 1835. (to be continued)This was an organised expedition unlike the english brigade that later fought with Garibaldi. In the top picture we can see some of the foreign regiments in service in that time. The black and white on the left is an example of the savagery of this war.Below British Legion line infantry.the fellow in blue is either artillery or Royal Marines.
