montcalm

Joseph de Montcalm, Marquis de Montcalm was hit by bullets. He was hit by bullets that struck his thigh and groin but his horse brought him back within Fort Quebec's walls. Montcalm died the next day and was buried in a crater dug by an English shell.The British Army besieging Quebec was around 8,000 troops. The force Major General Wolfe took onto the Plains of Abraham for the battle was around 4,500 men and 1 gun. The Marquis de Montcalm brought to the battle a force of around 5,000 men and 3 guns.
